I wrote a really inspirationalMar 16 2011Engineering Department
I wrote a really inspirational essay about how I decided to become an engineer. I wasn't exceptional at grades, but I showed a love for what I do and I think that made an impact on my admission. I didn't split my time amongst a lot of clubs, but instead focused on two clubs that pertained to what I would do in the future.

Basically, I have high GPA,I am extremely active person, I am involved in various extracurricular activities, I am creative and well-rounded student. I like writing essays, but I have very low ACT/SAT scores. Is it going to affect negatively my admission into BU?
ACT: 17 SAT: 1191 Female

Good SAT scores and GPA-lots of applicants so I doubt they weigh essays, extras too heavily.

I used many resources that were available to meMar 30 2010Biology
I used many resources that were available to me to make connections at BU even while I was still applying. I would say definitely go to the Open Houses, get a tour of campus, and make yourself unique in your essay. BU just wants to know why you want to come here, so show them that in your essay.
SAT: 1850 Female
I coasted through highschool with a 3Feb 05 2010Education
I coasted through highschool with a 3.2 and a 33 ACT, but I also did many mission trips and am an eagle scout, so the admissions dept. likes both academics AND extracurriculars. I recommend an excellent essay and good community service. And MAKE SURE you want to go to a northern school in a city. In the winter it barely is above freezing, and there is rarely a moment of peace and quiet as we're in an urban area.
